Everyone is welcome at The Big Flock, a new yarn festival, coming to Bristol.

The Big Flock is a curated yarn festival, aiming to celebrate diverse makers and designers of high-quality yarn, garments and accessories.
We want to create a warm, welcoming and accessible space for anyone to enjoy yarn and time spent together with others from our creative community.
It takes place in the great exhibition space at the University of the West of England Conference Centre.
Perfectly located, just off of the M32 and close to Parkway train station, it is easily accessible by private and public transport.
The modern, accessible and spacious facilities are perfect for an inclusive and enjoyable festival of yarn.
Over 40 stalls showcase some of the very best of yarn-dyers, makers and designers.
Workshops will guide, inform and inspire you in a wide range of fibre-crafts.
Come and join the Flock, for a fun-filled day of everything related to knitting, spinning, weaving and crochet.

Who are we?
We are Jon and Clare, of Birdstreet Yarn and have set up The Big Flock, with the support of a committed team of volunteers. We run Birdstreet Yarn and The Big Flock from our home in Bristol and are passionate about celebrating the best of the wool industry, in Bristol, the South West of England and beyond.
Over time, we have built a strong reputation for high quality, hand-dyed yarn, through our online shop, yarn festivals and yarn shops across both the UK and internationally.
Stockists of our own yarn include Stephen and Penelope, Amsterdam and we were delighted to be one of a small number of featured dyers for the 2024 Westknits Mystery Knitalong.
The same high standards for our own yarn are applied to other businesses showcased at The Big Flock. This is a curated festival, with clear criteria assisting the choices made, to ensure a high-quality exhibition of all things yarnie!
A small, local, 1/4ly gathering for lovers of all things related to yarn, from across the South West of England was set up by ourselves, early in 2019. Flock South West Yarnies created a welcoming space, to enjoy yarn, creativity and friendship, which we are really pleased to expand into The BIG Flock.
Each small Flock, we invite one other local designer or maker to set up a mini-marketplace with ourselves. There is a LOT of laughter, with games, amazing cake and lots of coffee / tea. It is so special, seeing people meet up and share their love of knitting, crochet, spinning... and everything to do with yarn! There's a lot of making over a few hours, including making new friends each time.
